Tioman Island is located 32 kilometers off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. To travel to Tioman, make your way to Mersing in the state of Johor. From there, take the ferry from Mersing: There are two ferry operators from there, Bluewater Express and Cataferry. During the high season, there are multiple ferry departures each day, dependent on tide and weather.
The ferry journey takes 1.5-2 hours, and we ask all of our guests to exit the ferry at Genting Jetty, which is the first stop the ferry makes on the island.
From Genting, we will arrange your transfer to our resort; it is a short 5-minute speedboat shuttle to Melina Beach. Reception pre-schedules all shuttle service from Genting to Melina Beach. Prior to travelling to Tioman, please inform us of your ferry time, as reception will provide you with details on when and where to meet our boat for your shuttle.
While Melina Beach provides transfer between Melina Beach and Genting Jetty on arrival and departure, we do not take responsibility for guest travel to and from Tioman. You can purchase you ferry tickets at the ferry terminal in Mersing, however it is highly recommended that you book in advance as the ferries can be full. Various ticket agents sell tickets online, and we recommend www.tiomanferry.com for their customer service or Use Cataferry Bookable from www.cataferry.com
